Here it is again, The day designated to England's Patron Saint.
I thought that there would be lots of mention of this on here today, but as there isn't as much as I expected, here's my two pennorth:
I am happy to identify myself as, "Yorkie" "Northern" "English" and "British" (I also have to concede that I am "European" at least in a geographical sense) I don't see any conflict in these titles, they are simply layers of identity, based on location.
Yorkshire is the place that I was born and continue to live, and, whilst not wishing to encourage the practice of stereotyping, I do think that people are to some extent the product of the area in which they are brought up.
Anyway, in order to avoid getting too deep and meaningful, suffice to say that I consider myself lucky to have been born in Yorkshire with all its diversity, great Cities, countryside and coast (we've got it all) and my husband who is much more well travelled than me, assures me that the rest of England has its good points too, so here's to England and St George the Dragon Slayer, Cheers!

Every corner of the world has it's own beauty, I think. Congratulations on your day!
