My two daughters and I spent the day house cleaning; the plasterers have finished, leaving nice smooth walls, and a whole load of mess behind them! It looks like most of the Bank holiday weekend will be spent on this task.

Seeing the place in this state took my memory back to an occasion when I was a child, my father was the foreman of a building site, there must have been some sort of deadline for completion and handover of the houses, my mother, aunts and even us kids were all enlisted to help clean the houses after the plasterers had done, so it seems I was an early learner. My expertise did not go to waste today, as we made good progress.

I'm not sure who is more enthusiastic about this house,my daughter or myself. It is certainly occupying my time and thoughts at the moment. It will be great to see our efforts come to fruition.
