This evening, my son arrived home, having been working away for several months. As you can imagine, I was really looking forward to seeing him and normally I would have been the one to pick him up from the airport but due to my bad back, I wasn't able to, his baby sister went to pick him up instead (in her new car)
Having spoken to my son on the phone earlier today, I was under the impression that I may not see him until tommorow, so I didn't feel the need to hang around the house when my other daughter rang to ask me to give her a lift into town.
I was so dissapointed when I returned to find, that during the half hour or so that I was out, they had got back, dropped his stuff off and gone out again.
My husband came in from the pub about an hour ago and said "Eeh it was good to see our lad" so now I'm feeling terribly deprived.
Hubbie is, at the moment playing our son's new guitar, a Martin Acoustic, which sounds very nice. He picked the lock to get into it (obviously it wasn't a very secure lock) which amused me for some reason. The absurdity of it "breaking and entering" a guitar case, because he couldn't wait until tommorrow to see it. Talk about boys and their toys. Well my two "boys" have pooled resources to buy this one, and I anticipate that it will give them many hours of pleasure.
